Cardiff Stumps Up For Travellers

Cardiff City Football Club will pay a gesture og gratitude to it's loyal supporters as they pay for coaches to Portman road on the final day of the season as Cardiff City take on Ipswich Town.

In a season of real ups-and-downs, the away support of Cardiff City has been absolutely phenomenal and really puts the home support to shame. Commended for their respect and behaviour throughout the season, many Burnley fans wrote to the club to praise the travelling support for its efforts.

Club Chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed his appreciation to the fans:

'The fans have been brilliant. I can't thank them enough and we feel that paying for organised away-coach travel is a small way to show appreciation.'

As well as being a good gesture, the idea is also designed to try to ingratiate the supporters and attract more of the stay-away fans back to Ninian Park.

Home attendances have been bitterly dissappointing, but with season tickets selling well at the discounted rates, there is hope for a better season next year when Cardiff can mount a more serious bid for promotion.
