QPR 1-0 Cardiff (report)

Cardiff City slipped to a disappointing away defeat at the hands of struggling Queens Park Rangers, who ensured their own survival with the hard-fought win.

A 28th minute header from impressive striker Dexter Blackstock was enough for the R's after a first half in which they dominated. The power of Nygaard and Blackstock caused endless problems for Cardiff and the midfield misfired again with the game by-passing McPhail completely and rarely reaching Whittingham or the re-called Willo Flood.

The second half was an altogether different affair as Cardiff attacked and pressed. The introduction of Paul Parry added a new dimension to the play and caused far more problems for the QPR defence.

Despite the added pressure and possession, Cardiff lacked a cutting edge and looked toothless as the midfield failed to lay Chopra with quality balls.

Another game, another disappointment for the Bluebirds, whose away support was again fantastic, and the end of the season cannot com quickly enough.
