Cardiff Players Overlooked by Wales

Cardiff Players Overlooked by Wales

Cardiff City players were largely overlooked in the Euro 2008 double header this week by Wales manager and former Cardiff City hero John Toshack.

Joe Ledley started the 1-0 defeat to Ireland, but was withdrawn at half time. The talented youngster was then dropped to accoma=odate the return of Jason Koumas from suspension, and Ledley was an unused substitute last night as Wales cruised past group minnows San Marino 3-0.

Another Cardiff City midfielder Paul Parry did get an appearance as he replaced inspirational captain Ryan Giggs for the final 15 minutes. Parry did not get on against Ireland last Saturday.

It seems the Cardiff City players called up for Wales duty have been used sparingly, with just an hours worth of game time between the two of them over two matches. This will not worry Bluebirds fans who will be pleased to have the two key players back without being injured or too jaded. Both are likely to start against Sunderland this coming Saturday.
