Cardiff Loan Signing Imminent

Cardiff City have until 5pm today to bring in the emergency loan player to fire the goals and lift them into the play-offs. Star striker Michael Chopra is sidelined for the next 4 games with a hamstring and City have been desperately chasing a loan stand in.

We take a look at the most likely targets:

Warren Feeney
The prime target to date, Feeney has just 2 goals all season. The Northern Ireland International (26) is out of contract with Luton in the summer and wants out of the relegation threatened club. Initial offers from Cardiff were rebuffed but the Hatters have money problems and may accept the £100k+ on offer for a player who will leave for nothing in 8 games time.

Svetoslav Todorov
Persistently linked with Cardiff in recent times, the Bulgarian is desperate for first team action and is unlikely to get it at current club Portsmouth. A proven goalscorer, he is wanted by other Championship clubs too but may fancy a shot at promotion with Cardiff.

Luke Varney
The Crewe frontman was linked with a Cardiff move in January but the move failed to materialise. Mid-table Crewe have nothing to play for this season and may like the cash from a loan deal.

Cristian Tudor
Romanian striker out of contract with Moscow FC. Recommended to Jones by his network of European scouts and wanted by another Championship club, thought to be Stoke.

Jay Simpson
Arsenal striker, captain of the reserves and scorer of a hat-trick against Cardiff earlier this season (FA Youth Cup). Arsene Wenger is a big fan of Dave Jones and Cardiff already have Kerrea Gilbert on loan from the Gunners. The 18 year old explosive striker is an outside bet, but in good goalscoring form and would love a chance to shine.
