Cardiff City have an anxious wait on two of their most influential players before they take on Sunderland in their next game.
Due to the International break next week, Cardiff have a 2 week gap before the next game. Wales play the Republic of Ireland this weekend allowing players like Chopra and Scimeca to hopefully regain full fitness.
Michael Chopra suffered a tight hamstring and was withdrawn after 35 minutes of the defeat to Derby. He will go for tests today to determine the extent of the damage. Cardiff fans will be hoping that there is no tear to the hamstring so Chopra could be fit within a matter of days or weeks and Cardiff fans wait anxiously on news of their talismanic forward.
Riccy Scimeca has a similar complaint and was withdrawn at late notice from the squad.
Manager Dave Jones confirmed the injuries:
'We've got two weeks before our next game and, hopefully, Chops and Riccy will be back.'
'Riccy actually trained on Friday and said he was going to run through the pain barrier, but when you see the tear in the groin, that's impossible.'
'With Chops, we've got to let his injury settle down before we know how it'll be.'
Cardiff now face an uphill struggle to qualify for the play-offs. they are in a strong position but need their big-match players fit and ready for the final push.
Glenn Loovens has been confirmed out for the remainder of the season.
