Cardiff hit by Derby-manager comment
Cardifff City boss Dave Jones took the defeat on the chin and vowed to pick the team up and rebuild for the visit of Sunderland:
'I thought we were the better team in the first half here. The second half was going nowhere, but Kevin McNaughton seemed to misread the ball and they got their second.'
'It was a bad goal to give away. The third goal killed us off, but the lad controlled it with his hand and the referee missed it. That's the luck you get at the top though.'
'I can't complain about the penalty. I would have been disappointed if I was the Derby boss and the referee didn't give it.'
'We're disappointed, but we'll just keep battling now. We'll dust ourselves down and get on with it. Things can change so quickly in this division.'
Derby boss Billy Davies was delighted with the three points and slightly relieved after watching his side struggle to get going:
'It was important at half-time to get one or two to believe in themselves a bit more and it happened.'
'We looked a bit nervous in the opening half hour and we have done at this place all season.'
