Cardiff City are set to name an unchanged line-up again, with Darren Purse again having to content himself with a place on the bench after returning from a back injury. Kerrea Gilbert could also feature on the bench in place of teenager Chris Gunter but Steve Thompson is set to start upfront again despite being without a goal since December.
The Bluebirds have had a settled side of late, and looked organised. The games they have lost recently, are ironically the games they have performed better. Cardiff need to take something from the game and will need to be resolute in defence and positive in attack against one of undoubtedly the best side in the division (on paper!).
For the Saints, gangly striker Kenwynne Jones is unlikely to play with an ankle injury so Saganowski or Bradley Wright-Phillips will partner the dangerous Rasiak in attack. Defender Michael Svensson is definately sidelined with a knee injury while Belmadi and Jermaine Wright are also both struggling for fitness. Wright was substituted early on in the defeat to Stoke and replaced by Portugese defender/midfielder Pedro Pele.
'Welsh wonderkid' Gereth Bale should start at left-back for the Saints and Paul Parry will need to help marshall the teenage defenders attacking instincts and help out Kevin McNaughton at right back, it would also be advisable for Cardiff to avoid conceding any free-kicks within 30 yards of goal !!
