Norwich City boss Peter Grant will wait until the last minute to decide his team to face Cardiff. Star striker and ex-Cardiff City favourite Robert Earnshaw is out of contention despite recovering far quicker than expected from a hamstring injury.
Chris Martin (calf) and Darren Huckerby (ankle)have also depleted the Canaries attacking options but striker Chris Brown could return from his hamstring injury.
Midfielder Dickson Etuhu, who scored the winner at Carrow road is doubtful with a thigh injury whilst captain and solid left back Adam Drury is suffering from a virus.
Some of those could recover in time, but all will need late fitness tests after a punishing recent schedule left its mark on the battered Canaries.
Ex-Cardiff man Tony Warner will start in goal against his former club. He failed to make an impression in South Wales and a series of unfortunate mishaps saw him loaned out to Premiership side Fulham from whom he recently moved to East Anglia.
Cardiff City welcome back captain Darren Purse from injury but he is expected to take up a place on the bench after missing 6 weeks of action. Dave Jones has no other injury concerns and can have the luxury of picking from a fully fit squad for once.
Michael Chopra will probably be partnered by Steve Thompson, without a goal since Boxing Day and the McPhail/Scimeca partnership will again be trusted in midfield.
