The double injury blow to Cardiff City suffered during their third successive win of Friday leaves manager Dave Jones with somewhat of a problem.
The regular left-back Kevin McNaughton, and his understudy Joe Ledley (normally a midfielder) are both doubtful with concussion and a knee problem respectively. Should neither make the forthcoming game with Coventry, who should Jones turn to to help continue the good run?
A poll is currently open HERE when you can cast your vote and opinion on the subject, also adding your own options if preferred.
The most likely solutions are:
Peter Whittingham
The winger has played full-back for Aston Villa and filled in on Friday is the unfamiliar role. He didnt look entirely comfortable but has some experience and would surely do a job.
Kerrea Gilbert
The on-loan youngster played lef-back during last season's Arsenal injury crisis and impressed. Although he favours the right, Gilbert could fill in on the left with Gunter at right-back.
Paul Parry
A left-footer with pace and reasonable in the air, some suggested in previous years that Parry may be more suited to a defensive role but looks an outside choice to fill in.
Joe Jacobson
A talented youngster with bags of potential, JJ could get his chance after impressing for the reserves and in a recent loan spell at Accrington Stanley. A natural left-back, he could follow in Gunter's footstep's in Jones puts his faith in the rookie.
Emergency loan
An alternative to the selection issue involves the opening of a new loan window on 8th Feb, 2 days before the game. A loan player could be drafter in for a month to cover the absence, similar to James Chambers' loan earlier in the season, who did an excellent job for the Bluebirds.
A difficult decision ahead for Dave Jones then, with any one a possibility. He may already have his eye on a suitable loan player but is unlikely to go for one less well suited than any players currently available.
