Purse & Scimeca out: Who's captain

With Darren Purse and Riccardo Scimeca both out for Cardiff City, who will be captain for Cardiff City when the face Barnsley on Friday and for the next few games?

A poll is currently open HERE to see who you think should be made skipper, here we look at the likely candidates.

1) Roger Johnson
The commanding centre-back was a regular captain at former club Wycombe Wanderers but has relatively little game time with Cardiff City. A leader on the pitch but not established in the City line-up.

2) Glenn Loovens
Another dominant centre-back, established in the side but has no experience as skipper.

3) Stephen McPhail
The influential playmaker could be Cardiff's most experienced player behind Alexander and could influence his side from midfield.

4) Steven Thompson
The big Scot is a dominant presence on the field and has exemplary work-rate. A big character in stature and personality, should command respect of his team-mates.

5) Michael Chopra
Cardiff's most influential player and high work rate, bubbly character and real Premiership pedigree. Chopra epitomises a team player and could really inspire his teammates.

A poll is also open on the VitalCardiff forum HERE where you can vote and add your own options and comments.

Well personally i belive you have missed out to vitally important players number 1 Neil Alexander who controls the defence well which shows considering we havent conceded many goals this season. Number 2 Paul Parry who has influents the team to push forward with his runs down the flanks hes scored and assisted all season (when he isnt injured that is)

Alexander certainly should be in there, although he is quite quiet. Parry though?!?! OK he influences the side with his play but certainly no leader, far to withdrawn and virtually silent on pitch.
