No Ledley Move - No Whittingham Deadline
Following on from the speculation linking Crystal Palace midfielder Joe Ledley with a possible return to Cardiff City, manager Neil Warnock seems to have rubbished that.
The 30 year old is set for a summer departure from Selhurst Park with his contract expiring this summer - well the original is Here.
Suffice to say, as Warnock met with the media this week, the BBC have Warnock seemingly ruling out a deal for our former Academy graduate.
'I know Joe. I was at Palace with him, he's a very good pro, but I've not heard from his people and I've not made any enquiries.'
Whether he will or not remains to be seen, but the BBC frame it he has no interest full stop.
They continued to report that Warnock said Kadeem Harris had agreed to sign a new deal, so that should tick through shortly as well.
The 23 year old made 38 appearances last term.
'Kadeem has agreed a contract. Everything's been agreed apart from his signature. He's got the confidence. I'm hopefully going to sign players to give him competition because I don't think we got enough goals from Kadeem and Junior last year. They know that, they've got to produce more goals, but they were both instrumental in a good run.'
As for Stalwart Peter Whittingham, Warnock said there was no deadline on him agreeing new terms.
The 32 year old has been offered a 12 month deal but on vastly reduced wages, so Warnock more than understands why he's looking at his options.
'In Peter's case, quite rightly so because it's a reduced offer, he's looking at his options. If he could get two years - and his agent says one or two clubs are offering him that - then you can't blame him. It's up to Peter. I think he'd be better off with us. I'm not really looking to replace him. I'm not saying he's going to be a regular but I think he could definitely make a good contribution. I've not set a deadline, I've not got anyone lined up in that respect. He's got to work out what's best for his family at this stage of his career.'
