Bennett In Team Of The Week (9/5/17)

Bennett In Team Of The Week (9/5/17)

Cardiff City are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Joe Bennett in the three nil victory over Huddersfield Town at the weekend at the John Smith's Stadium was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bennett was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Cardiff City signed off their season in style with an emphatic 3-0 win away at Huddersfield Town, who will be competing in the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs this weekend. Bennett was a star performer, scoring twice from the left wing-back position, while Kenneth Zohore deserves a mention, setting both goals up and scoring the other himself.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bennett for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

James McKeown (Grimsby Town), Joe Bennett (Cardiff City), Rory McArdle (Bradford City), Michael Morrison (Birmingham City), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United), Tarique Fosu (Colchester United), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich City), Kal Naismith (Portsmouth), Steve Morison (Millwall), Chris Dagnall (Crewe Alexandra), Britt Assombalonga (Nottingham Forest).

Manager - Mike Flynn (Newport County).
