Cardiff vs Leicester (preview)

After the highs of winning last Saturday against Wolves Cardiff take on Leicester City at home tomorrow.

The foxes lie in a disappointing 17th position in the Championship taking just 1 point from their last 3 league games. Other than wins over Wolves, Barnsley and Hull, their form in the last few months has been woeful and fans will be anxious to kickstart a poor season to date. It has only been a month since the last meeting between the sides when the teams fought out a 0-0 stalemate at the Walkers Stadium.

Top scorer Ian Hume, the ex-Tranmere hitman, is a constant threat with his intelligent runs and neat footwork while Matty Fryatt is waiting to make his impact at Championship level having been prolific for Walsall.

The worry for Cardiff is the news that Skipper Darren Purse will be missing from tomorrows clash due to the back injury suffered during last week`s game. Purse is likely to be missing for a fortnight due to the injury and his likely replacement as captain Riccy Scimeca has admitted the club do not know the extent of Purse`s injury as yet. Roger Johnson will deputise for Purse alongside Loovens meaning that youngster Michael Corcoran could make the bench as back-up centre-half.

Kerrea Gilbert and Michael Chopra are also doubts for tomorrow`s game. Gilbert missed the win over Wolves with Ledley and McNaughton taking the fullback positions but Chopra`s presence will be missed. New signing Jason Byrne would be in line for his first start for the club should Chopra fail a late fitness test.
