Cardiff Fans Blimp Grounded

Cardiff City fans have been thwarted in their peraceful demonstration against Wolverhampton Wanderer's ban on all City fans from todays Championship clash between the sides at Molineux.

A group of around 30 supporters were paying to rent a 'blimp' to hover over Molineux and ensure they could watch their beloved Bluebirds in action. The decision to ground the idea was taken last night amid safety concerns about the recent weather and high winds.

It is a shame that the demonstration could not have gone ahead but has regardless raised somewhat of a media storm over the past week and has highlighted the unjust plight of normal Cardiff City fans who feel they should not be prevented from watching their side week in, week out.

The decision means that Cardiff City director Steve Borley will be the only bona fide Cardiff City fan watching the game live, although a 1000 will be present at Ninian Park as the game is 'beamed back' to TV sets and the big screen.

Lets hope the players can make our feelings known instead in a lifeless stadium this afternoon. Jex Moxey's decision underlines football growing image as a business and not entertainment. Although taken in the name of safety, there were far better ways to ensure it and allow people to spend their Saturday afternoon as they always do.
