Cardiff Fans to protest against ban

Dear Fellow Supporter

A reminder about the national Fans United demonstration being backed by the Football Supporters` Federation. The particular issue we`re demonstrating about is Cardiff City supporters being banned from there game against Wolves at Molineux on the day of the demonstration and rally.

I know the hour is far too early but that is the only time the Police would allow the event to take place. It`s Cardiff City this week, it`s been Manchester City, Millwall, Stoke City and, ironically, Wolverhampton Wanderers in the past. Rumours have circulated this week about the Metropolitan Police trying to restrict the number of away supporters at the forthcoming Carling Cup semi-finals between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, including a story in this evening`s Evening Standard.

IT`S TIME FOR SUPPORTERS TO STAND UP TOGETHER AND BE COUNTED. ALL SUPPORTERS IRRESPECTIVE OF CLUB/NATIONAL TEAM ARE WELCOME ON SATURDAY. PLEASE WEAR YOUR CLUB/NATIONAL TEAM SHIRTS/COLOURS.

THE ONLY THING WE DON`T WANT IS ANYBODY INTERESTED IN A RUCK. IF THAT`S YOUR THING, DO US ALL A FAVOUR AND STAY AT HOME. YOU`RE NOT WELCOME.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO ALL FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS` ORGANISATIONS, FANZINES AND WEBSITES YOU`RE IN CONTACT WITH AND TO ALL YOUR PERSONAL FOOTBALL CONTACTS AND MATES.

ALSO, WE`RE LOOKING FOR MESSAGES OF SUPPORT FROM SUPPORTERS` CLUBS/ASSOCIATIONS/TRUSTS/FANZINES AND WEBSITES FOR THE RALLY ON SATURDAY. PLEASE E-MAIL THESE TO:

steven.powell@fsf.org.uk

It would be helpful to get these no later than Friday lunchtime 19/1/07. I`ve also attached the FSF press release that has been sent out to all our media contacts. PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ANY MEDIA CONTACTS YOU HAVE.

All supporters are guaranteed a warm welcome. We look forward to seeing you there.
