Southend await Cardiff-Spurs victor

Southend United will travel to either Cardiff City or Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup 4th round on Saturday 27th January.

The Shrimpers overcame Barnsley last night after goals for Kevin Maher and Lee Bradbury, who scored the winner in a 1-0 win against Cardiff over the weekend, securing their passage to the 4th round of the prestigious competition.

Tonight's game between Tottenham and Cardiff will decide Southend's opponents after a 0-0 draw at Ninian Park saw the 3rd round tie go to a replay at White Hart Lane. Whichever team were to win tonight, they would probably be favourites to beat Southend and secure a place in the fifth round, an excellent retturn for Cardiff City and a welcome distraction from their disappointing league form.

Of course, Spurs are favourites to beat Cardiff tonight at their formidable WHL fortress and impressice cup pedigree. However the goalless draw gives Cardiff some hope after matching their opponents over the entire 90 minutes.

C'mon City !
