Cardiff City 'legend' becomes boss

Former Cardiff-City fans favourite Andy Legg has been appointed takecaker manager at Conference North side Hucknall Town for 'the foreseeable future'.

Legg is a Cardiff City legend and helped the club achieve it's current Championship status. His determined and comitted performances at left back, left midfield and sometimes at sweeper were a massive contribution to Cardiff's recent success.

His long throws already famous, Legg and Leo Fortune-West caused havoc from any throw-in in the opponent's half and Legg's contribution was exemplary.

After securing promotion to the Championship, Legg was released by then manager Lennie Lawrence to the bemusement of Legg and City fans alike. The messages of support flooded in for Andy and his family as he was diagnosed with a tumour.

After overcoming his difficult personal circumstances, Legg returned to playing but was forced to retire after medical advice. He is sure to make a good coach and has a wealth of experience behind him playing for Reading, Swansea, Cardiff and Wales.

Hucknall Town are currently 2 points of the play-offs in Conference North.
