'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jones reaction to Cardiff form

Cardiff City manager Dave Jones was less than impressed with his sides 4-1 defeat in a game they were looking to win:

'It was not good enough and the back five didn't perform as a unit. There were too many individual mistakes and we're not helping ourselves by making too many errors individually and collectively.' Jones said.

'We are going through a patch where you are looking for your characters to come to the forefront - but they didn't do that.'

'From start to finish, too many people didn't do their jobs. I tried to get back to what I thought was my strongest and quickest team.

'But we look laboured and there's no hiding place for the lads at the back as we didn't compete at the level we should be competing at.

'They haven't just lost it - it's still there - but they're not helping themselves in certain situations. They've probably made more bad decisions today than they have done all season.'

Jones was understandable not happy with the performance but it made a refreshing change that excuses such as 'poor training facilities' and 'long injury list' did not crop up. It seems the Bluebirds are now just limping feebly to the January transfer window when something can be done to revitalise their flagging campaign.
