Cardiff face Spurs in FA Cup

Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Cardiff on 6th January for a challenging FA Cap 3rd round encounter.

Its another plum tie for the Bluebirds after landing Arsenal away in the same competition last year. This time the North Londoners will come to South Wales and Martin Jol's side will not be looking forward to the encounter.

Spurs are the perennial under-achievers in the Premiership but have UEFA cup ambitions every year and include some big names such as Edgar Davids, Jermaine Defoe and England Keeper Paul Robinson in their squad. The competiton may provide a useful distraction for Cardiff after their league form has dipped in recent weeks.

Hopefully the Ninian Park atmosphere can be a factor as another Premiership 'big club' come to Cardiff. The tie should provide a full house and a great day for Cardiff fans and may be the quality of opponents Cardiff hope to face next season should their promotion campain prove successful.

The key fixture in the 3rd round draw saw Liverpool drawn at home to rivals Arsenal.

Some big names like Edgar Davids... you just might get to see him, as we wheel out the old boy for fixtures like this, maybe a little research into your competition so you can better inform the Cardiff fans.
