Gilbert wants Gunners-Cardiff switch

On-loan Arsenal defender Kerrea Gilbert feels like a Cardiff City player and has expressed a desire to remain at Ninian Park after his loan deal runs out.

Gilbert has played for the Bluebirds this season after Arsene Wenger allowed his out to gain first team experience although Wenger claimed that Gilbert was very much a part of his future plans. It seems however that Gilbert waznts immediate first team football and has decided that Cardiff is the place to be.

'My heart is with Cardiff now and having been here for three months, I really like the place and the people here. We will see what happens at the end of the season though. Cardiff and Arsenal will talk then, but playing in the Premiership with Cardiff does appeal to me.'

Gilbert is now available to Jones after sitting out the final match of a 3 game ban after tussling with Paul McVeigh in the final minute of the 1-0 defeat to Norwich last month. He has impressed so far and although he has made some mistakes his commitment and determination has been exemplary and Gilbert has shown a huge wealth of potential.

With his desire to join Cardiff possibly depending on promotion to the Premiership and Wenger's plans for the combative defender - it seems nothing will be sorted for a long time yet but Dave Jones is sure to assess his options carefully at the end of Gilbert's loan.

it's only lust, he'll be over it soon enough... if cardiff do get promoted it wont be as rosy then as it is now... i think he should come home and battle with hoyte, eboué and lauren for the rb position!
