Ole Delighted With Day's Efforts

Ole Delighted With Day's Efforts

Two friendly matches and two victories and manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer couldn't have been more delighted had it not been for the unfortunate news received by fullback Kevin Theorphile-Catherine.

Speaking following the day's efforts in both games, Ole explained the black armbands and said the thoughts of everyone were with Kevin who had to leave to fly home following a family bereavement.

Theophile-Catherine was in the team to play TSV 1860 Munich but having received the news on Friday, he went home to be with his family.

'Kevin has gone home and is looking after his family. He had to go home because he has lost a family member. We send our condolences and I had a chat with him before he left the hotel.'

Speaking more specifically about the two games to Wales Online, the gaffer went on to say about the first game.

'It was unbelievably hot. The players should be proud of their efforts and attitude. They stuck at it in the second half. We looked threatening on the counter attack and when we looked threatening, we had possession. There were easy goals conceded and we allowed too many crosses, but when you play German teams they switch with diagonal passes and it's going to be crosses all day long. It was a good experience for some of the boys and I'm extremely happy with the 90 minutes, the players did a fantastic job.'

Ole admits that in the final 20 minutes it was obvious players were tiring but overall it was the test he was hoping for and he was pleased with what he saw.
