Ole Welcomes Players Back

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has welcomed some old, and some very new, faces back to pre season training.

The squad returned late last week for the obligatory testing and measurement phases of pre season so their summer work, and future progress can be appropriately tracked as we build up to the Championship push in 2014-15.

Of course, Cardiff haven't been slow in making additions this summer, and Javi Guerra, Guido Burgstaller, Federico Macheda, Adam Le Fondre and Kagisho Dikgacoi met up with everybody for the first time properly since they joined us and we also welcomed back John Brayford and Nicky Maynard who ended last season out on loan.

Speaking to the Official Site after the first sessions, the gaffer said he was delighted to see how everybody mixed in together on the first day and he's looking forward to a very good start to our league campaign as we look to gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

'The early signs in training are very good, I think everyone in the camp knows just how important it is for us to start the season well. It's a tough and long season in the Championship and we're working hard to ensure that our fitness is good. You have to look forward to it if you love football. We have games Saturday, Tuesday, all the time and we have a big squad full of quality.'

Ole goes on to say that with the business we have done this summer already, he has to pass the credit on to chairman Mehmet Dalman as he describes him as being 'absolutely fantastic' in his efforts to chase and get deals done for him as it can and will only be a benefit to the club to have our new captures in from the very first day.

Onwards and upwards now hopefully.
