Caulker Fee Agreed
Manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has confirmed that a fee for Steven Caulker has now been agreed between Cardiff and QPR, so now it's time for the player to make his choice.
It's believed that a release clause in the 22 year old's contract was triggered when Queens Park Rangers reportedly offer us in excess of £8million for the player, and speaking to the press our manager explained simply.
'The lure of the Premier League might be too much for us to hope that he stays here. The clubs have agreed a fee, it's up to Steve to decide. He enjoyed the season here, he played every single minute and he did exceptionally well.'
Having joined us last summer from Tottenham Hotspur, Caulker went on to play 39 times for us, scoring five times in the league and speculation about his future has been pretty rife since the season ended.
All Ole can do now, as he admits, is hope that we get a quick solution to this and if Caulker remains, even better, if not, our manager wants a settled squad so if he is going to depart, he'd rather it happened quickly so he can get on with plans for the coming campaign.
In other transfer out news, Gary Medel has now given a strong indication that he's looking for a non Championship challenge in the coming season.
Speaking for the first time following Chile departure from the World Cup on penalties to Brazil, Medel said.
'I remain a player of Cardiff, but now doors are open to play elsewhere and I hope that happens. Nothing has been said yet but I am wanted in Italy and that is a good possibility.'
Signed for £11million, fantastic World Cup showing, £15million would be a good start.
