Cardiff City have confirmed the captures of both Federico Macheda and Adam Le Fondre.

Both players were heavily linked with us the past few days, and they now become the third and fourth signings of the summer for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The first announcement was 22 year old Macheda who joins us on a free having been released by Manchester United.

He has signed a three year deal having successfully completed his medical, and he will officially join us on July 1st, and once again work with the gaffer following their time together at Old Trafford.

Speaking to the Official Site as his signing was announced, he said.

'It's a massive opportunity for me and it's with thanks to Ole Gunnar Solssjaer that I'm here. He played a big part in my decision and I'm really looking forward to starting this season.'

Macheda goes on to say that he had a good loan spell with Birmingham City last year in the Championship and he's looking forward to replicating that with us now and hopefully helping to win us promotion again at the first time of asking.

Former Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has also joined the club for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old striker has also successfully completed a medical and will add further options upfront given he scored 41 goals in 109 games for Reading.

Speaking to the website himself, he said.

'It's such a great opportunity for me to come here and play for a boyhood hero of mine in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it was a move I just couldn't say no to. I can't wait to get started.'

He has also signed a three year deal.
