Bellamy On Ole, Ole On Zaha

Bellamy On Ole, Ole On Zaha

Only two real interviews of note today, Craig Bellamy says that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has let him off the leash, and the gaffer talks about the role that on loan Wilfried Zaha will play between now and the end of the season.

Both interviews are carried by Wales Online.

The first interview concerns Craig Bellamy who says he feels his energy is back with Ole encouraging him to throw off the shackles and be the terrier we know he can be on a football pitch.

'I have the utmost respect for what Malky did at this club and what he did for me as a person, I adore the man and will always be grateful. but we are playing differently, I'm in the offensive third whereas I was basically playing left back. I sense I'm able to change games whereas at the start maybe I couldn't. The way we set up suits me, I'm fit, my energy is back and I'm sharp.'

Of course there were fitness issues near the ending of Malky's reign when it came to Bellamy, but he says he's now possibly in the best shape he's been in since joining the club and he wants to make that count for us now by the level of his performances.

Should Bellamy fire properly, and the rest of the team, he says he remains confident that we can keep our place in the Premiership this season as there are enough points left on offer and enough teams we can go up against knowing we are more than capable of getting a result in our run in.

Another player who could be key to that is on loan Zaha and there is also a snippet from the gaffer insisting he does have a part to play, despite being left out of recent matches.

Ole explains that originally Zaha was set to start the game last weekend, but in the end he changed his mind and threw Fraizer Campbell in as he thought he would last about an hour in the game, and then Zaha would be fresher, but as the game wore on and Campbell gave us everything the more sensible change at that point seemed to be Daehli for him, however he did add quickly.

'Of course Zaha has a big role to play, or I would not have brought him to the club.'
