Malky Future Up In The Air

Ahead of any game you don't want uncertainty surrounding your manager do you? Playing a team so in form as Liverpool are makes these preparations even worse.

Will Malky be the manager beyond today's game, whatever the outcome? Quite why Vincent Tan has acted the way he has is incredible, then again this is the Malaysian Mad Man we are talking about and he pretty much does what he wants when he wants to.

As the owner of the club he's got a right to have such a remit in someway really, however there's a right and wrong way to go about things. Such a dictator way of follow my rules and ways or else isn't the right way to run a football club, or the way of life anywhere.

Tan has stormed into the UK to confront Malky, however at the request of the chairman last ditch talks to clear the air have taken place.

What's the outcome of this though? We'll find out after the game today but you'd have to think that the relationship is untenable now and Tan will have to follow through with his threats now, he doesn't seem the type of man that wouldn't!

Malky will soon find himself in a new job, they are available and if one of the current availabilities such as WBA or Tottenham isn't for him I don't think he'd have to wait long into the New Year to find one, and he'll have a healthy compensation payoff from Tan as a Christmas present.

I don't blame or begrudge Malky refusing to walk away, why should he? He's done a tremendous job with Cardiff and why allow the dictator to do him out of a two and a half year compensation payoff just for him to get his way.

It's possible that Malky could remain in his job, its got to be considered highly, highly unlikely though regardless of what those talks achieved on Friday night and what the result is this afternoon.
