Ruling Cardiff Out

I'm not really sure why I'm entertaining any Cardiff transfer rumours whatsoever, we'll not be signing anyone when the window opens again in January will we!

That much has been made clear by Vincent Tan; it's not stopped the rumour mongers from linking us with Manchester United's England international winger Wilfried Zaha though.

Along with us, Newcastle, Everton, Stoke, WBA, West Ham, Aston Villa and our Welsh rivals Swansea are 'monitoring Zaha's situation' as far as the Daily Telegraph reports today. That report does admit that our interest is now unlikely though in light of Tan's thoughts earlier this week.

It said: "Cardiff manager Malky Mackay had hoped to be involved in the race to sign Zaha, but Tan's insistence that he will not spend any money in January appears to rule the Welsh club out."

I'd think it's fair to say that we have been ruled out of the race to bring in the former Crystal Palace winger, who hasn't managed to break into the Manchester United side since his summer move.

For what it's worth, not that it's of much interest to us, I think he could end up at Everton as part of a deal that takes Leighton Baines to Old Trafford but Newcastle are said to be leading the race for him?

January will be a long old month won't it, what with all the transfer rumour and speculation, none of which will involve us and players coming in! Not that it'll stop the reports of us being interested in this and that player.
