Forcing Malky Out

No sooner had Malky finished telling the media that he was eyeing three January transfer recruits his intentions were vetoed.

Vincent Tan almost immediately put out a statement that he wasn't going to give Malky 'a penny to spend' when the window reopens.

Is it just me or is the timing of this a little suspicious?

It's no secret that the owners and managers might not see eye to eye but if I was a cynic, some would say that I am, then it would almost seem as if this was a ploy to try and get Malky to jump ship!

Granted without the Malaysian investment we quite possibly wouldn't be in the Premier League now but changes that shouldn't ever have been made that basically insulted our heritage have! They weren't right, and certainly haven't been liked, but we couldn't do much about it.

In the interests of fairness Malky was given further funds in the summer for transfers and wages so it would be understandable that finances would be minimal in January, which is notorious for a window that can see prices over inflated as well.

A little improvement would definitely benefit us, that goes without saying but I'm not one of those that's an advocate of wild, excessive spending.

This is a situation that could quite easily be blown up into a media frenzy, whereas if a little conversation was had behind closed doors could have easily avoided this (then again perhaps it was hence the conflicting views).

I stand by my view, conspiracy theorist perhaps, that Tan has shared such views in the hope of provoking a reaction from Malky to give him justifiable grounds to sack him, or better still from his viewpoint Malky sticks two fingers up to him and says I'm off!

I can seriously see WBA looking at this very closely.
Totally, I'd not blame or begrudge Malky if he was looking at other jobs out there and left to take up another offer. Not sure how long he'd get at WBA though.
