'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Win Was A Result Of Team Spirit

Striker Peter Odemwingie had more than one reason to celebrate following the victory over former club West Bromwich Albion one would imagine, but he chose to focus on the fantastic team spirit within the camp, and he feels that the way we kept plugging away to find a way through their defence is proof that everybody is on the same page.

Speaking to the Official Site following the one nil victory thanks to a goal from midfielder Peter Whittingham, the forward explained.

'As a team we are very strong. We showed that today, you can't pick a stand out performance, it was a team effort. Since I arrived, the team spirit has been fantastic and the camaraderie is very good. That makes us work as a unit.'

As for the result itself, Odemwingie admits that the three points were very needed and we got them at the perfect point as it has helped us build a bit of a gap over those below us in the table, and it's a buffer like that which will give us the chance for survival especially as we will have games not go our way so the more points between us we can have, buys us that bit of leeway.

Of course, bouncing back from the last match with the maybe unexpected loss to Crystal Palace is also welcome as it gets us back unbeaten, and hopefully now that will maybe be something we can build on and get a run going to really improve our chances.

I think all fans know how sour things went for Odemwingie at Albion, but ending his interview he chose to be the bigger man and again described them as a great club and a huge part of his own success, so he choses to focus on the memories he had there rather than the way it ended.
