City swoop for Hornets defender

Cardiff City have today confirmed the loan signing of Watford defender James Chambers. The 26 year old arrives from Vicarage Road having played in just one Premiership game for Watford this season. Although outside the official transfer window, Chambers can join on 'emergency loan' to cover the abscence of Kevin McNaughton, out for several weeks with a torn hamstring. Chambers is primarily a right back but either he or Kerrea Gilbert could cover that position as well as the versatile Joe Ledley. Either Chambers or Malvin Kamara will come into the side for Saturdays game with Crystal Palace with Chris Barker currently on loan at Colchester and unable to be recalled until January.

James Chambers began his career with West Bromwich Albion but impressed after a £250k move to Watford and was instrumental in helping the Hornets acheive promotion last season. Credit to Dave Jones for getting a solid and experienced player in so quickly to cover an injury.
