The top three rated players in the Championship all play for Cardiff City! According to the latest Actim Index figures, the Bluebirds clearly lead the way. In fact 5 of the top 7 players in the division are members of the top-of-the league side.
Riccy Scimeca has been in outstanding form recently and leads the way with 209 points, Michael Chopra is second with 208 and Joe Ledley is third with 202 points. Although not surprising that our players are performing outstandingly given our recent results, it is remarkable that the statistics are dominated to such an extent by one side. Paul Parry and Darren Purse are both also in the top 10 while Neil Alexander is rated as the best 'keeper in the division.
Perhaps most impressive is that Cardiff City`s four midfield players ALL appear in the top 5 midfielders (along with Martin Devaney of Barnsley). The Actim tallies various in-game statistics including goals scored, shots on target, , passes, tackles, blocks and clearances while also taking into account fouls and offsides to give an accurate insight into all round contributions of individual players.
All members of the side are performing exceptionally well at present and will be hoping to keep up this form after the International break. Well done to all the players and good luck to Paul Parry and Joe Ledley who are both hoping to start for Wales against Slovakia in the European Championships 2008 qualifier on Saturday.
