Severny-Two Hours Transfer Window Remains

Cardiff City remain keen and confident of landing one more player capable of featuring heavily in the first team this season before the transfer window ends on Monday evening - in 72 hours.

Mackay has been keen to add a winger to his options with deals agreed for both Thomas Ince and Jefferson Montero. However, late changes of mind have hampered both deals and although the Montero chase is not yet dead, the chance of his signing has dropped dramatically in recent days.

City have historically stayed away from deadline dey dealings, but the capture of Nicky Maynard last year went to the wire, waiting for West Ham to secure Andy Carroll's services. Mackay and his team have worked flat out to identify and approach targets, but refuse to buy for the sake of it.

Cardiff City's squad will be finalised very soon. We have enough to make a go of it, but another signing with pace and flair could make so much difference if the right player can be found.
