One more plus point for Cardiff
The hotly debated issue of goal music seems over for now at least. After the excellent 4-0 win over Wolves this week, many were half-expecting the club to persevere with their plans to play goal music after each goal. It seems that on this occasion the club took on board the views of a City fanbase as united as ever they have been with a public outcry in Cardiff City internet message boards against such proposals. We waited after Riccy Scimeca`s well directed header but no music could be heard.
A recent poll on this site revealed that 82% of people were against the idea and with a sell-out crowd it seems unnecessary to attract more fans in a way sure to upset many of the City faithful.
The issue is not over just yet however, the original plans to play goal music were that the tune of the Atalanta Braves 'Tomohawk Chops` could only be played after either the Tomohawk (Steven Thompson) or Chops (Michael Chopra) score and neither was on the goal sheet against Wolves.
There was certainly no need to encourage fan noise on Saturday and hopefully these plans can be forgotten now. Either way, we all know that it won`t be long before one of our first-choice strikers score, if there were goal music - hopefully it will be drowned out by the more intimidating and rousing crowd noise.
