Malky To Everton Rumours Persist

The strong rumours linking Malky Mackay to Everton will not disappear and have gained more strength over the past day with MM, Laudrup and Roberto Martinez all firm favourites with Celtic's Neil Lennon also in the frame.

As is expected these days, none of the top candidates have spoken candidly about the position and in all honesty there really is nothing they can say. No manager would sully their relationship with current club and fans to openly state interest in a job, while any definitive rejection may be deemed disrespectful and it didnt do much for Brendon Rodgers who dismissed any talk of a move to Liverpool before promptly leaving Swansea for Merseyside.

The speculation surrounding Mackays is expected, but certainly causes problems and uncertainty for the Bluebirds. We definitely dont need this, and must do all we can to keep hold of Mackay. If he leaves for Everton, he couldn't be blamed but it will be a difficult and complexx job to follow David Moyes at a club that has consistently overacheived and have struggled to attract investment. They are so much bigger than Cardiff City in every way, and will remain so for the foreseeable future, however, the boots are big to fill and would be a very tough ask for Mackay with no experience of Premiership management. Give it a few seasons Malky....
