Cardiff City's Campbell Player-Of-The-Month

Cardiff City's new signing Fraizer Campbell was named Championship player of the month for February, marking an impressive start for the former Manchester United man. Campbell has excelled since joining in a bargain £650k move from Sunderland, but would hardly have expected to feature so haeavily having struggled for match fitness and gametime following a serious injury.

Campbell has scored 5 goals so far, each of them winning the game for the Bluebirds but it is not just goals that he brings. Although City are far from our best form, we are still picking up points and that owes considerably to Campbell's impressive work-rate and movement in attack. City's attacking play is somewhat lacklustre but Campbell has been able to create space and cause problems for opposition defenders.

Campbell has started the most recent games in attack, keeping the likes of Bellamy, Gestede, Helguson and Mason out of the side. To sign a new player and have them immediately named player-of-the-month is certainly a big positive, but just think of his contribution in a team that is playing well !
