'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Taylor Wary Of Bristol City Challenge

Cardiff City defender Andrew Taylor sees the upcoming contest with lowly Bristol City as a tough ask, comparing the clash to City's only home defeat of the season when (then bottom club) Peterborough scori=ed a surprise victory at CCS.

Sean O'Driscoll is a very experienced manager and will have a lot of ammunition to fire up his side - not least the prospects of the Severnside derby and chance to stun the league leaders. This will undoubtedly be a difficult encounter and City will be under pressure to win given the respective league positions.

Defender Andrew Taylor is sure to start at left back and will be taking nothing for granted against BCFC. Football fans hear this week in week out, but you really do get the impression that this sentiment comes from the manager and Malky Mackay simply will not let them get complacent.

Taylor tole BBC Sport:

'They're down the other end battling for their life. As much as we're fighting and wanting to get to the Premier League they're fighting and scrapping not to end up in League One.'

'It's going to be a difficult game. As we've seen against Peterborough no game is easy in this league. We'll have to go into the game with the right mentality and hopefully come out winners.'

Any Cardiff City victory is a big step towards maintaining our position and securing a promotion place come the end of the season. Winning the home games is key and this has to be seen as a big opportunity. The table looks incredibly healthy from a Bluebirds perspective and with Swansea City living it up in the Premiership - Bristol City are our biggest rivals in the division. That should provide plenty of motivation For Cardiff City to go out, produce a good performance and hopefully pick up the three points.
