Bellamy Back In Wales Squad

Cardiff City striker Craig Bellamy returns to the Wales squad after a period of uncertainty over his International future. The former Liverpool man is included in Chris Coleman's squad to face Austria and has resisted the opportunity to end his International career to focus on his club.

Bellamy has been absolutely superb of late, and looked extremely fit and mobile. Malky Mackay is a modern manager and is happy to allow Bellamy to manage his longstanding knee problems with the vigilant guidance of Richard Collinge. Bellamy understands his body better than anyone, and we are reaping the rewards for his diligence.

There can be no consideration that Bellamy would 'wind-down' as a player and if he plays for Wales - he will give 100%. Put simply, he is too good for the Championship and for all his skill and endeavour on the pitch - he clearly is of huge importance off it too. His country has always been important too him, despite Wales' constant flattery to deceive.

He was particularly close to Gary Speed, a further complication especially with his turbulent personal situation over the past year. You simply cannot question Bellamy's commitment to Wales or Cardiff City and whilst he has always carried a certain reputation with him - it's hard to fault his attitude and determination since re-joining the Bluebirds - he has been a credit to all.
