Leicester Lucky But Cut Cardiff City Lead

Leicester City recorded a valuable win tonight against a plucky Wolves side but were somewhat fortunate after the visitors dominated the second half and missed two glorious late chances to take at least a point. Anthony Knockaert was again on the scoresheet for the Foxes but it was a breakaway goal from Leicester that won the game - David Nugent with a classy shot into the far corner across Ikeme.

However, Wolves were certainyl good value for a point and enjoyed a great deal of possession throughout the game. After going behind, they did not capitulate but were left to rue the two late chances missed by striker Sylvain Ebanks-Blake who steered a free header wide before scuffing an effort against the post when well placed.

The result means that Leicester City close the gap on the Bluebirds which was previously a gaping 10 points. Of course, City have the chance to re-establish that cushion on Saturday but Leicester will pose a sustained threat and could easily have dropped points tonight. Unlucky plucky Wolves.
