Cardiff City vs Crystal Palace (Team News)

Cardiff City have no new injury concerns ahead of Boxing Day's top-of-the-table clash against Crystal Palace with Nicky Maynard (knee) the only long term absentee for Malky Mackay's side.

Tommy Smith (groin) has been ruled out for weeks, but is now nearing a return to the first team squad. Craig Conway in particular has grasped his chance to impress recently while Craig Noone and Kim Bo Kyung have impressive claims for inclusion in the hotly contest wide areas for City.

One enforced chance will be made today with Matthew Connolly suspended after collecting a fifth yellow card of the season. His place at right-back will be taken by Kevin McNaughton with impressive youngster Ben Nugelnt likely to be included on the bench.

Youngster Kadeem Harris (ankle) and the experienced Staphen McPhail (hamstring/illness) are notionally available but both men are severely lacking in match practise and are yet to feature this season. Mason, Mutch, Gunnarsson and Noone are hoping to win a recall to the starting XI as Malky considers fitness and form in his rotation plans.

Crystal Palace also have an enforced change through suspension with former Cardiff man Danny Gabbidon set to replace the suspended Damien Delaney. That may also mean a place on the bench for ex-Bluebird Darcy Blake if the 24-year old recovers from illness in time. Fellow centre-half Paddy McCarthy has suffered with long term injury (groin) woes and is yet to feature this season,

Midfielder Jonny Williams (groin) is back in contention but may have to be content with a place on the Eagles' bench.
