Cardiff City secured a fantastic result to beat promotion rivals Leicester City recording a 1-0 win courtesy of a first half Craig Bellamy effort after great work from Craig Conway. It was a backs-to-the-wall performance from the Bluebirds and it could so easilt have been a very different result. That won't matter to Malky Macaky at all and we open up a 10 point gap to LCFC as well as consolidating our place at the top.
For Leicester City, Andy King and Dave Nugent were constant threats throughout. Both hit the woodwork in the first half and Hudson, Taylor and Conway all cleared efforts from the line as the hosts dominated. Marshall also made saves but The Foxes never created the one golden chance they needed.
Cardiff City also had chances, with Bellamy firing over, Gunnarsson was a whisker from doubling the lead before a superb de Laet interception while Kim Bo Kyung was denied a penalty when he looked to be tripped following a flowing counter attack. Gestede too came agonisingly close to killing the game off but it ended 1-0 and City were not made to pay for our missed chances or Leicester's possession.
A valuable and important win for Cardiff City. I think many would have taken a draw in this fixture and whilst we were far from our best - we ground out the win with a uncharacteristic performance - a definite sign of a good side.
