Leicester City vs Cardiff City (Team News)

Cardiff City have no new injury issues to contend with but the trip comes too early for Tommy Smith who remains out with a hamstring injury. His continued absence means further chances for the likes of Conway and Kim Bo Kyung. Nicky Maynard is out for the season with his knee ligament problem.

Experienced midfielder Stephen McPhail is available but badly lacking match fitness. Mackay will decide when to re-introduce him to the squad but with fellow central players like Mutch and Gunnarsson currently out of the starting XI - McPhail will surely have to wait for injuries before getting the call.

Skipper Mark Hudson will surely return after suspension meaning Matthew Connolly is likely to revert to full-back and Kevin McNaughton drop to the bench.

Leicester City welcome back lively attacker Martyn Waghorn after an operation to remove his appendix. Waghorn has missed just one game to undergo the procedure but has understandably not trained fully and it remains to be seen whether he will feature.

Dangerous winger Ben Marshall is looking to become a regular starter after impressing but fail to cement a starting XI position. His attacking threat on the right will cause problems for Andrew Taylor if selected.

Influential defender Sean St Ledger has struggled badly with a hamstring injury and remains sidelined. He has now missed almost three months and has sought specialist help to investigate his lack of progress. It looks likely that Michael Keane will also miss out with a hamstring problem.
