Cardiff City were last to play of the Championship fixtures last weekend and manager Malky Mackay spoke of the added pressure after a thumping win for Leicester City and the likes of Palace and Hull City also winning their games.
It was a similar story for our next opponents Blackburn Rovers who also played on the Sunday - conceding a late equaliser to see the derby game with Burnley end all square.
Tonight, Cardiff City will face Blackburn Rovers and in complete role reversal will look to pile pressure on our rivals with palace home to Blackpool, Leicester to Barnsley and Boro travelling to bottom club Peterborough. Those are all games that teams striving for automatic promotion should win - but also provide the potential banana skins that are so crucial to Championship success.
There were no midweek games, so tiredness should not be too much of an issue, while neither side has any advantage in that respect having both played on Sunday.
The Bluebirds triumphed on Sunday thanks to Craig Conway's late strike, overcoming a determined but limited Sheffield Wednesday challenge. If City could grind out another win tonight, it would open a 4 point gap over Crystal Palace, but importantly widen the deficit to 8 points for Leicester in third.
That said, Blackburn Rovers will be an incredibly difficult proposition and have Premiership quality in their ranks. A new manager will be looking to turn things around, and as one of the 'big boys' in the Championship they are used to being a scalp for opposition sides. With Cardiff City currently top-of-the-table, the pressure is off Rovers and they may well take heart from City's indifferent away form.
