Taylor Rewarded With New Cardiff City Contract

Cardiff City have moved quickly to tie defender Andrew Taylor into a long term contract just a couple of months into his second season with the Bluebirds. Taylor was a free transfer signing, having worked with Malky Mackay at Watford. He joined from tomorrow's opponents Middlesbrough - who would have liked to keep him.

Taylor has been ever present this season, providing consistent and solid performances down the left flank. His continued availability has definitely helped as he has been fored to play with a number of different midfield team-mates ahead of him with Craig Bellamy, Craig Noone, Craig Conway and more recently Kim Bo Kyung ahead of him.

Taylor is young and has his best years ahead of him. He is effective in attack and has a cultured left-foot allowing him to cross dangerously from deep, or overlap to good effect. His defendding is generally good, but he does have a tendency to allow opposing wingers too much time and space to cross - preferring to back off rather than risk getting beaten. However he does stick to his task well and is an important member of our side.
