Cardiff City Must Somehow Stop GoalMachine Austin

Cardiff City will come up against one of the most in-form players in the world this weekend when Charlie Austin takes the field for Burnley looking to continue his remarkable record in front of goal. The 23 year old forward has netted 18 times in 14 games this season and has only failed to score in two of his appearances. Leicester City, who sit top of the Championship, only have 19 goals for the season!

Austin scored twice in midweek to continue his superlative form, helping his side to a remarkable 4-3 win over Bristol City. Strangely, their form has been relatively poor overall and despite Austin's heroics Burnley are only now in mid-table.

Former Swindon Town man Austin will clearly be the dangerman, and warrants very close attantion from Taylor, Hudson, Turner and Connolly - City's likely back four. Having scored in 8 consecutive games, to keep Austin out would be a huge positve - however, City really could do with going one better and keep the entire Clarets team from scoring. City are chasing our own record, looking to acheive a seventh successive home win in a row.

With Nicky Maynard a long term injury worry, Bellamy ruled out and Heidar Helguson never known as a prolific goalscorer - Cardiff City would love a striker of Austin's obvious calibre and finishing prowess in our ranks. Tomorrow, however, wwe will be going all out to keep him quiet and hopefully end his brilliant run in its tracks.
