Cardiff City face Crystal Palace on Saturday looking to make it four wins on the bounce. We look certain to come up against Welshman Darcy Blake, who departed the Bluebirds a few weeks ago and has been a regular for his new club Palace.
However, there may yet be another familiar face in the Eagles line-up after ex-Cardiff City favourite Danny Gabbidon agreed a move to Selhurst Park having trained with Palace over the past weeks.
Gabbidon remains one of the classiest defenders ever to have played for City, he showed tremendous pace, skill and quality during his years with Cardiff - helping City move up the leagues and establishing himself as one of Sam Hammam's 'gems' who would not be sold!
Clearly he was sold, to West Ham when the extent of our financial difficulties was revealed. He was always destined to play in the Premiership, but continued to make mistakes and lacked concentration at times. Key to his game however, was the ability to recover swiftly and make a tackle before an attacker could capitalise on any slips.
33 year old Gabbidon was frustrated at QPR last season, and now joins Palace looking to play regularly once again. Hopefully he can stay injury free as he remains one of the most popular players to come through Cardiff City's ranks in recent times.
