Cardiff City Secure Victory In The Lions' Den

Cardiff City ran out 2-0 winners in beating Millwall, and were once again boosted by a fantastic high-paced start to the second half. City could well have gone into the break ahead, but Aron Gunnarsson was penalised for pushing when Peter Whittingham's sublime free-kick hit the back of the net.

The second half, saw Craig Noone running the show, firstly getting his marker booked, blasting a shot over from 12 yards, then teeing up Whittingham for a simply beautiful opener. Passed into the top corner from distance- what a strike!

Just moments later, Noone was the goalscorer with another quality finish - this time after collecting Tommy Smith's pass.

The game became scrappy and disjointed, but Millwall improved significantly with the introductions of Chris Wood and Chris Taylor. Despite throwing bodies forward, they failed to seriously test Marshall and did not create too many real chances.

Cardiff were hit by a stunning blow with Nicky Maynard carried out with a serious looking knee injury - more on that in due course, but midfielder Kim Bo Kyung made his welcome debut.

An excellent three points in difficult circumstances. City will play better, but the victory and clean sheet are everything sometimes and 10 points from 15 becomes an impressive 13 from 18. Well done Bluebirds.
