Cardiff City Set To Unveil Winger Signing
Cardiff City are today expected to announce the capture of long term target Craig Noone from Brighton and Hove Albion after the clubs agreed a fee and the midfielder underwent a medical yesterday. Noone was a top target in January, and the move nearly materialised only to be quashed at a late stage by the Seagulls heirarchy.
Brighton remain keen to keep Noone, but folded in the renewed interest with Gus Poyet looking to cash in on the winger in order to secure funds to attract a top striker to the Amex. On the basis of our game earlier this month, the Seasgulls with a top finisher in their ranks would be a real prospect.
On that day, Noone was also dangerous throughout and we were somewhat releived to see him replaced during the second half. He has started all of the Seagulls' games so far this term, but with Kazenga LuaLua and Will Buckley they can afford to lose a winger.
The Noone transfer is for a reported fee of £1.2m with a further sum payable up to £1.5m dependent on appearances and performance. Noone will go straight into the squad for Sunday's clash with Wolves but with Kim Bo Kyung and fellow new signing Tommy Smith also looking to feature - competition will be tough.
