Winger Harris Could Miss Cardiff City's Opener
Cardiff City could be without promising young winger Kadeem Harris when the new season kicks off in just two weeks time with a game against Huddersfield Town. Harris was forced to miss last night's friendly against Cheltenham Town with a thigh injury and could be forced to sit out several weeks.
Pacy winger Harris has yet to feature for the Bluebirds after making the switch from Wycombe Wanderers 6 months ago with Malky mackay opting against throwing his into his first Championship action during the high pressured run-in. However, he has applied himself well in training and is set to play a part during the coming season offering genuine width, trickery and raw pace on the flank.
Harris did feature against Forest Green Rovers over the weekend, but has now re-aggrevated a thigh injury that had affected him briefly during the pre-season trip to Switzerland. It is not thought to be a major problem, but a scan revealed a grade one tear to his thigh muscle and he will sit out training for at least a week.
Hopefully Harris will be cleared to return to full training in time to be available for selection for the Huddersfield clash. He is unlikely to start the game, but with South Korean winger Kim Bo Kyung also doubtful to have received International clearance by then, City will be lacking in wide options.
