Stars Return For Cardiff City Pre-Season

Cardiff City return to pre-season today, with the vast majority of last season's squad still intact and with new recruits Joe Lewis (goalkeeper) and Jordon Mutch (midfielder) added to the roster.

The players will be put through their paces by Mackay, Kerslake and will also be rigorously assessed by the medical team and head of performance Richard Collinge. All the players were given a schedule to follow over the summer, and for many of our players- this will be their first full pre-season and a chance to fully prepare.

In addition to the new recruits expected over the coming weeks, this will also provide an opportunity for many of the club's younger players to make an impact and force their way into reckoning for the 2012/13 campaign. Winger Kadeem Harris will be desperate to make his debut, while the likes of Nat Jarvis, Joe Ralls and Rudy Gestede hoping either to emulate fellow youngster Joe Mason and make themselves a key player, or to give themselves some gametime.

The Bluebirds will face four away games, before a big home game against last season's Premiership surprise package Newcastle United on 11th August.
