Cardiff City Squad Review (11/12): Filip Kiss

A brief look at the individual contributions of all the major Cardiff City players over the course of the 2011/12 season. The 'rating` as given is not purely based on performance but more the impact that player had compared to what we could realistically have expected at the start of the year and given their own standards and reputation.

4: Filip Kiss

oan signing Kiss arrived with a reputation as a busy midfield enforcer, however, he struggled with injuries and failed to earn himself a regular starting position for the Bluebirds. He is wholly determined whever called upon, and offers strength, power and tenacity from midfield.

However, you would have to say that Kiss can be rash, and always has a booking in him. Cardiff City fans love a committed player, and Kiss didn`t shirk a challenge all season - the only surprise is that he never picked up a red card !

We didn`t see a great deal of Kiss over the season, especially over the second half of the campaign. However, he seems set to turn his loan spell into a permanent deal and Malky Mackay clearly sees potential. Kiss seems capable of becoming a useful player, but will need to add more creativity and subtlty to his game to succeed in our league system.

Season`s Ratiing: 5/10
